Pelvic Health Therapy Benefits

Pelvic health therapy can provide non surgical approaches to help overcome myofascial pelvic pain and also reduce symptoms of other conditions caused due to pelvic floor problems. Urinary incontinence, painful intercourse, and sexual dysfunction are few symptoms of other conditions seen in Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD).

What is PDF?

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD) is a condition that renders a person unable to control their pelvic floor muscles. PDF affects many women, especially as a result of pregnancy, delivery, trauma such as fall or car accident, surgery, obesity, or other pelvic conditions including endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, or prolapse. Additionally, PDF can effect men.

What are some of the symptoms of PFD?

Common symptoms of PFD include, but are not limited to, a feeling of pain or heaviness/pressure in the area of the lower abdomen or vagina, incontinence, leakage, or urgency. Symptoms tend to occur when upright, straining or coughing.

The team here is fantastic. They always worked with me for scheduling appointments and explained everything when it came to insurance. Beyond that, the depth of technical knowledge of anatomy/physiology that these individuals possessed and how it made a point to explain everything to me was something I really appreciated. I was seen by Dr. Woody for a few months for a sports injury. I was challenged each visit but not beyond my comfort level. Which is crucial in order to heal properly. Because of Dr. Woody and the whole Ally Physical Therapy team, I was able to get back to doing what I love in a reasonable amount of time. If you are considering PT, come here. Full stop.
